Summit Point Lodging

Post by Tsurara » Thu Jul 13, 2006 6:13 pm

Hi everyone,

Can anyone reccomend a good place to stay near Summit Point?

How are the Knights Inn and Turf Motel? Any other good places?

Thanks.

Stayed at the Clarion last year and it was nice, plus its way off the street so less chance of people driving by seeing cars. They have an elevator for the 2nd floor which we used to haul race tires into rooms with at night. Lots of room for trucks and trailers.

This year I stayed at the Comfort Suites in May which is cheaper and not as nice as the clarion but I would stay there again. No elelvator for for 2nd floor. Not much room for more than 4-5 trucks and trailers, parking lot is smaller.

Both are about the same distance to the track, about 10 min or so. There isn't much thats closer. Clarion is nicer but more $$.

Knights Inn in Charles Town is reliably good. 24 hour restaurant next door, others close by.
Parking OK. Some highway noise.
I have stayed there since 1995 and they treat me well.

I stay at the Knights in for cheap, basic, clean. Don't call their reservation line as theynever have rooms. Call direct 304-725-2041.
Washington Inn B&B downtown is lovely- was $100 three years ago weekdays.
