Warning If you have Brembo front rotors on you car, inspect them for cracking around the "hat".
I was at Watkins Glen this past week with the Audi Club for their driving school. On the second session out, while heading into the "bus stop" at about 140 mph, I heard a snap and lost most of my bracking power.Upon my safe return to the pits , I removed both front wheels and found the one piece cast rotor on the right side had sheared off from the mounting hat. The rotor on the left side was cracked completely around but had not sheared off yet These brakes are the Brembo brakes from Ford Motorsports for the 2000 Mustang Cobra R, I have them on a 1997 Mustang Cobra.
If you have these brakes please check your rotors for cracking :-$ You can see it best from the back side .

The upgrade kit comes with stainless lines.
There seemed to be an issue awhile back with the rotors cracking around the hats. Some of the 00Rs were experiencing it, I don't know how old you're rotors are but that "issue" seems to have been fixed as of late.
Order a new set from tirerack for ~$64 bucks a piece and call it a day. Do a search on cornercarvers, there was talk about this a year or so ago.

Dan, thanks for the heads-up. I can't remember if you have any brake cooling ducting. After we spoke, I thought about the track miles on my rotors and I think I have more than yours- but I have good ducting going right into the center of the rotor.
I'll be checking mine before the my next event.
BTW- that's the only braking zone at WGI that you get away with a brake loss and not (as the announcer on SPEED likes to say) "have a BIG OFF".

The brake kit was installed March of 2004 and yes I have the stainless brake lines There was no heat checking on the rotor faces but they were turned once in the winter of 2005. They had about 1500 miles on them.
