Post by Stynger » Thu May 23, 2013 3:08 pm

Looks like Summit has some race shoes on sale. $35.00!

No SFI tag, but fire retardent material. If you don't see your size, try calling.

Thanks Les! Just picked up a pair.

The item said it has a SFI 3.3/5 but I won't really know until I get it.

Yep mine too, thanks again for the find. Manufacture date was June 2009. I think the little lightning bolt design will make your feet 25% faster as well.

Wow great find. I may get a pair to use during fueling at Lemons. I hate wearing my nice race shoes around the paddock and whatnot.

They look genuine, but most good counterfeits do - would need an expert's eye. As is typical, it probably mostly is a money issue. SFI wasn't getting their revenue and threw a hissy fit and kicked them out of the sand box. There has been no allegation that the products weren't up to SFI standards, just that they weren't buying their magic tags.

It probably has something to do with the article.
I figure they are good pair of driving shoes, probably to an SFI spec but with a legal issue.
Interesting Summit claims the rating but without the tag. Another legal thing to move them?

Better than sneakers. :P
