Waste fluids shed at NHMS

Post by CP » Wed May 15, 2013 6:34 pm

Anyone know if they accept used coolant? I've been turned away from countless local garages. I need to change the fluid in my diesel truck this summer which holds gallons of the stuff, in addition to what I've already got in jugs in my garage from the track car. What's the preferred method to dispose of used coolant? I'm on septic at home so I can't just pour it down the drain.

Is it acceptable anywhere to pour it down the drain? (not being sarcastic, honest question)

I get rid of antifreeze (and lots of other stuff) at my city's yearly hazardous waste collection. Costs $20

i bring my HAS MAT waste down to the water CO. they have a thing once a month were they take it then only cost me 20 dollars for each item . it's better that the 250 dollars per tank the HAS MAT CO. charges me to remove it from my shop .
they take my old waste thinner , old fuel , oil's , coolant , they will also take any and all HAS MAT metarial .

They took 2 gallons of coolant from me at NHMS this weekend at the lemons race. They had no problem with it.

Just a FYI most Valvoline Instant Oil Change shops will take a few gallons for free.
