Hi,
I am finally getting around to removing the T50 that I put on my car last fall (before all of the cars got scaled down a class).
I did not get some new ones made yet.
Are there any T40 stickers left over from last year? The one that I was provided with last year was very nice. I am looking for three of them just like that.
If not, I can have some made for next time (will use tape this time).
thanks,
Rebecca
Any vynyl class designators left from last year?
Re: Any vynyl class designators left from last year?
I have a friend that owns a sign company that does vinyl letters and numbers. I normanlly get a few sets for the season, since I occassionally take the Vette on a road trip and I gets looks driving down the street with numbers all over it.
Assorted colors and sizes - and it only takes a couple of days.
You can check mine out at Summit if interested.

if you drive your street car on the track and don't want to pay for high dollar vinyl numbers just to peal them off at the end of the track day you can make them your self cheap (real cheap ) buy vinyl shelf paper and some number and letter stencils .
in a half hours time you can cut a years supply out using a x-acto knife . they will stay on in the rail and at speed them when you want them off the car they will peal right off with little to no clean up .
amazon sells the contact paper in big rolls in any color you want cheap along with all types of stencils .
i do my numbers in a digital stile not because i lke the way they look as much as it's ez to change the number from club to club . you don't have to remove the hole number just add or remove a little part of it . digital numbers are real ez to cut out .
it fascinates me to see a nice looking car with crap ass making tape numbers on it .

Let me calculate this:
Shelf Paper - about $4.00 + shipping and tax
Stencils - at staples for about 3.00
xacto knife / ( or use your home scissors for free )- $ 3.00
My time for 1/2 work at $1.00 per hour = $ .50
Total about - $10.50
Cost of vinyl labels with class # and Car # for both sides
already done and ready to apply .......$5.
I'll buy them and put them on and they look better. cheaper `isn't always cheaper in the long run....

Re: Any vynyl class designators left from last year?
ok take that 10 dollars you came up with and now times it over the last 5 years for the cost and then i still have enough to last for the next 10 to 15 years . total cost about 2 cents to do a car .
how long does a stencil for ever i have had some for the last 40 years now .
the x acto knife i have also have some from when i was a kid building models how much for a package of blades ?
2 or 3 dollars how many do you get 15 blades in a package how long will they last if you don't drop the knife and brake one a long ass time total cost ?
labor ? you waste more time sitting on the crapper taking a shit than it will take to cut out a hand full of numbers so please be real !
your saying wasting 5 dollars is cheapper to put on decals every event than what i and other people do . BS the shipping will cost almost 5 dollars .
or post the info and i will order some decals with the shipping for the 5 dollars !
if your real cheap you could reuse the contact paper decals .
send me the numbers for the two sides and the class decals for my miata i need grabber blue color T30 and the number 962 in standard block lettering email me for my credit card info .

Actually because he a friend he does them free for me. So the cost is nil.
Here's real.... With an attitude like that I wouldn't have him do them for you even if you wanted to pay him $100.
Do whatever you do and have fun.

no attitude !
i do know what is cheapper for 99 % of the people out there remember building cars is what i do for a living .
to pay for vinyl for every event can get costly if your going to just peal it back off . this is why some many people use masking tape .
most contact paper comes out to be about a dollar a foot for a 10 foot roll bigger rolls the cost starts to become less .
as you all know if you stick vinyl on crooked your **** for the most part that is how it will stay (crooked) were contact paper you can peal back off a make it straight and there is no sticky mess when you peal it back off after the event is over .
if you have ever tried to remove masking tape that got wet it's not any fun at all . contact paper is nothing like than it can get wet and still comes right back off the panels .
