no i'm keeping the Diff . i may use it on the New gay ferrari (miata) or i may use it on the chassis i'm building for a motorcycle powered car .

up date on the gay ferrari . i repainted the car i did not want just another white miata so i paint the car grabber blue on the bottom and up and over the trunk area and left the rest of the car the OE white .
i was going to keep the hard top i picked up for a good price but i made 200 dollars on selling it and another 150 dollars for painting it for the guy that bought it . i don't feel the need for a hard top just to do some track days after all whats the point of having a convertible and putting a hard top on it ? i want a convertible to have the top down .
i'm putting the spec miata seats in the car but i still had to remove some of the foam from the seat cover to pass the broom stick test .
i bent up a roll bar but still have to weld it up in the car .
the BBS 15" wheels i bought i sold off i owned a set of them years ago and hated to clean them so i still need a set of wheels just what wheels i don't know what i'm going to buy . i have been googleing miata wheels to see what i like . i have an extra set of centra type 11 wheels that are from the VW gti but on the miata they look a little like pimp my ride ?
i'm looking for some thing a little more classic for the miata .

"whats the point of having a convertible and putting a hard top on it ? i want a convertible to have the top down"

Yup...I've asked that same question many times... 8) :sunny:

I use the K1s as well...typically bring four sets of them to the track with me every race weekend (1 wet, 2 race dry, 1 dry practice). For cleaning rubber off I use brake cleaner and/or Mr. Clean magic erasers. It's a pretty durable wheel but could use a bit more offset to be perfect for a (Spec) Miata. Ditch the blue hard valve stems that come with them...they break off easily. Use shorty rubber valve stems instead.

i was looking at the enkei compe wheels or some like them .
i also was thinking about bassett wheels but they would have to custom build me a set to fit the miata so the discount i get from them would not apply for custom wheels it's just for off the shelf stock size wheels .

If you've got a wholesale account with Tirerack, the Kosei's are under $100.

i'm not the one that came up with the name gay ferrari . it's started with my red delsol and a friend calling it that then every friend i hang out with started calling it that too .
two saturdays ago i'm working on the miata and a bunch of my friends stoped in and started calling the miata the new gay ferrari . it stuck !
the pink harley davidson sticker on the back window that the PO put there didn't help things much .

so i need to change my steering wheel . when i do the air bag light will flash i'm sure ?
from the looks of it i can't just pull the two fuse's and have the light go out and looking at it also the main fuse is shired with the fuel pump ? so pulling the main is also out .
what's the ez way to turn the light out ?

On many (most)cars, removing the air bag light will make the air bag control module chime loudly every time you start the car,and every minute thereafter. The control module has a built in circuit that can detect a burned out or missing air bag bulb. Take a piece of black electricians tape and apply it over the air bag icon on the transparent overlay, which will require you to remove the instrument head. The quick way is to place the tape on the clear outer lens...:)
They do make an air bag "test" simulator sensor you can substitute for the air bag..which will keep the light off,but they cost money.

ok i figured it out .
i took the control unit and tried just unpluging it 1st the light was still on and then i unpluged the battery back up it stopped the chim but the light was still on solid no longer flashing so i pulled the bulb out and now it's fine no light on no chime .
took about 35 minutes to figure it out but it's done .
the honda is a much easier car to do and porsches are even easier than hondas .
now i can install the new cheap ass grant steering wheel and move it closer to me so my knees are not hitting it .
another thing i don't get is grant will not offer a adapter for the airbag cars but they have one that fits .
i ordered the mazda adapter # 3597 and it bolts right up and even turns off the blinkers when you turn the wheel back .

yes it was quick and ez once i figured out just how mazda SRS system worked .
you unplug the two blue boxes under the steering column and if you also want the light to be out pull the dash cover off the gauge cluster and just pull the guages out a little then with a needle nose pliers just untwist the light bulb and pop it out . that's it ez !

i needed the steering wheel closer to me so it would not hit my knees or my knees would not hit the wheel .
the only down side is the horn button i could have wired it so it would still be in the steering wheel but because of the spec miata seats in the car i am going to install a quick release hud adapter so that's out . i just moved the horn button to the left side dash and used a old horn button from the MOMO wheel i have in my diasio .
i'm to cheap to go buy a quick release hub so thor from MOROSO gave me one but it's a weld on . i don't want to weld it on the column so i made a adapter so i can just bolt it to the column and then weld the quick relaese to that .
