I would like to do a few COM days this year. I have two race cars and would like some advice on classifications for these two.
2006 Pontiac Solstice SCCA SSB (now T4) race car? 2.4 liter n/a @ 2950 lbs.
2003 Mazdaspeed Protege former Grand Am Car. Raced some ST in 2005? 2.0 liter Mazdaspeed turbo
What do you think?

Re: Car Classifications
Welcome back Jim. Need to refer to the rules on the web site for the new car classes, or run in prepared, the grand am car will most likely go there anyway. -Fred
Re: Car Classifications
I'm guessing your turbo'd, four-cylinder Grand-Am Protege will be classed in Prepared B (PB).

Re: Car Classifications
That is what I thought on the Protege. Thanks. I remembered awhile back I had a SS SCCA car but it got classed in ST? Now sounds like Touring any thoughts on the Solstice. Thanks!
Re: Car Classifications
Hi Jim,
Your solstice more than likely fits well in touring, but the exact class is determined by modification points added to a base assessment.
For some reason we don't have the Solstice on our list so we will have to determine a base assessment for you. In the mean time you can run through the spreadsheet with a similar performing car to determine how many modifications points you would accrue for Engine, Drivetrain, Suspension, Brakes, Aero, Weight and Tires.
You can grab the spreadsheet or worksheet from this page: COMSCC Rules
