Thanks to all for you input.

I found an AR10-2005 in new condition for $125.

Your advice led me to a successful purchase.

Thanks again

Consider giving your helmet to David, his work is amazing.

You know its the off season when ... you find yourself responding to trivia posts.

The ///M colors are from BMW's partnership with Texaco in the early days of European Touring Car racing. Texaco's color was Red,bavarian blue was for BMW, and the dark blue stripe was a blend of the two. The other colors on the helmet are DTM (aka German) related.

p.s. "Fixed' my avatar for ///M iata drivers.

i have had so many heated discussions about the center of the BMW badge and it's meaning being as simple as it's just part of the bavarian ( Bayerische ) flag .

them yes the M colors started with texaco then after a very short time ( 8 months i think it was ) back out of the deal and castrol picked up the deal .
castrol color is not creen like most think but red .
like fred stated the blue is for bavarian
the red is for texaco/castrol
and if you mix blue and red you get purple. for the partnership
