local machine shop recommendations?

Post by n1gzd » Thu Jan 31, 2013 10:34 pm

Hi,
I need to choose a local machine shop because I will have occasional need. I the shops that I have used previously are too far away.

The most immediate task is a simple one so it would be a good job to try someone new out. I just need someone to drill come perfectly centered holes in some hubs, axle flanges and brake parts (enlarge for 7/16th studs).

Any recommendations?

Part of my latest MG midget project is to upgrade hubs, axles, bearings and rear end............ Tranex limited slip diff is in the mail........ Yipeee!!!

Thanks,
Rebecca

ABT MAchine in Holliston does very good work. Mike is a very maticulous guy and very smart. I highly recommend them.

info on the web suggests that they specialize in rebuilding engines. Are they a good general machine shop as well. I would expect that (because engine work might be the most challenging) but I thought I would ask. Also, are they knowledgeable of issues that might be more common on older cars?
thanks,
Rebecca
