It'd also be helpful to know what type of dyno that was on, and what mode it was run in. Dyno results can vary fairly significantly between types and modes. Not saying this happened, but for people going and just doing dyno pulls as opposed to tuning, I've heard plenty of reports of results being "calibrated" higher because it makes the owners happy customers...

I think you are referring to corrections. Normally shops will give you a printout with an SAE corrected number which calculates altitude, temperature, humidity, etc so that it gives you an average HP on an average day. If you were to do a pull on a very cold day obviously the numbers uncorrected will be a lot higher that day. That could be part of it.

Yeah - Corrections, Ramp Rates, Inertia Settings, Running in different gears. What you can change depends on the dyno, but it is possible. Most likely it's a more "optimistic" brand of dyno coupled with the car running well on a good day.

It's a mustang dyno. Has the sheets to prove it. As for the calibration of the dyno your right, they vary. I talked to him again. It also has ported head and a "shark injector" or something from turner. Oh and it's a 1997.

Mustang Dyno's usually run lower than Dynojet's and others. I am guessing his readout was probabaly uncorrected, which is the horsepower the car made that day. There is no way that car really makes that power. My car made 242whp on a dynojet with similar mods, except I have stock cams, which is a very accurate number compared to many other people who have the same mods. I just can't see it being possible. Either way, sounds like a nice ride.
