My car comes in at 80.4 points with NT-01's. I'd love to be able to drop down into T70 and run on the cheap with NT/RA-1's. Who else is running in T70?

Mick---- if your car is T70, my car should be T50 or even T40. These new rules are going to be fun

That sounds about right, no? Your car is a lot lighter and has a much more modern suspension and aero. And RA1s are going to kill my times. Which tires did you class yours with?

Mick my car is not as light as most people think it is. On the scales at NHMS it weights in at 2260 pounds w/driver and only has 138 ft.lbs. of torque. The standard tires are Yokohama A048s (a 3 point add) but are very narrow, 195s front, 225 rear. At WGI with new Hoosier A6s it can barely break 2:20 and I've been there with with 7 other Loti (includeing Exiges) and the only one faster than me was an Exige Cup Car racer. So I am not a slow driver yet your car is almost 5 seconds faster (plus you are a very good driver ) . A pro driver (Peter Argentsinger) in a modified Elise could not beat my time and he knows WGI, his father founded the race track. So I don't think your car and mine should be in the same class. If the new rule system is supposed too. make cars more equal,it failed, it will need lots of revisions as we go along.

For comparison, my car is 530 lbs heavier and makes 22 more ft lbs than yours. I run 225 tires all around. It seems like they should be closer.

Statements like these before we even hit the track and complete a single TT for 2013 are uncalled for. As mentioned earlier tire choice will weigh heavily on the results, and Mick needs to drop down to a RA1 to stay in the T70 class.

I just spent some time looking at your TT results and Micks at NHMS since I also think it is unfair to make the statement above about a single track (that hp cars have an advantage at).

Unfortunately Mick has no TT results at NHMS SO, and his NHMS CC results are over a year old.
But, in NHMS CC Mick has about 5 seconds on you, I have no idea what you both ran for tires.

At NHMS SO he has no results, but SPC results from two events last year show a 5 second gap between winning times compared to your STGT, but those times are set by WillM & Gorden, I suspect their cars will not be in T70 next year. The mid-of the road SPC times are more in-line with your TT results (miatas/S2000).

In my opinion I think you ought to get used to it, the reason they couldn't figure out how to get "Super" to work is exactly the same, Super classing was just more obvious than it is in Touring .... COM should be preppared to make adjustments thru-out the year for not just NHMS CC & SO but for other tracks that will handicap some cars much much more significanlty than others.

I say we class cars by color! If you are not competitive in the red class, paint your car blue! Of course you would still need scrutineers to determine where odd shades would slot..or for multi colored cars..but it could work. .....

Pat, Mark, and Bruce ------ I like this color thing :D :D :D I've got a red car but its not the fastest !!! I think I'd have to go in the Silver class if I wanted to use a fast car -----although I also have a silver Smart car which I don't think would be that fast :x I think is would be in -T10 class under the new rules :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
