Stephan--- everybody that went to the banquet last year was very happy with the food and the location so the board of directors decided go back to the Courtyard.

Agreed! I was there too! no complaints ... I love the racing wheels set up in the tight quarters with everyone roaming prior to the banquet 8) maybe we could re-arrange the beds if you cannot get a bigger room

This year the 'hospitality suite' won't be a room with beds (sorry Sam! ;)), it will be a conference room on the same floor as the banquet hall. Much more room to gather, and iRacing.

I can bring some Sangria if folks are interested. I'm just about to make a 5 gallon batch this week. The only issue is: I don't want to bring any of it home. It must be consumed.

Does your sangria really exist? I've heard about it for years but have yet to hold a bottle or taste a drop!

There was almost a full case at the last banquet. You weren't paying attention.

Sangria in the true sense on the meaning is actually a "drink" that you mix and normally not sold in bottles .. although most 'mericans (no pun intended, just an observation) have proved me the contrary my marketing some of the most disgusting mixes (margaritas, mojitos, etc.) normally sold in stores.
Sangria is used with wine that is not the greatest and destined for consumption by adding a variety of fruits (maybe to mask the taste of the not-so-great wine) and diluted given it was meant to drink during summer in Spain/Portugal.

Troy actually makes a pretty nice and tasting batch., Over the years he's been kind enough to bring a few samples in which some of us have managed to help him consume. :sunny:

Will probably will not like this .. it's not eve close to the taste of spice rum with a dancing girl in skimpy costume ...

We are still talking about the banquet .. right???

Some of us were working that night and didn't observe the presence of sangria from the podium. :)
