Will Saturday's morning/aft fast laps be posted?
It was great to be back with COM after a couple of years missed due to concussion bs.
I know that Saturday's fast laps were posted in the paddock for the morning. I had to leave early in the afternoon due to mechanical difficulties, but I did manage to run my third session. Will the morning and afternoon fast laps be posted online?

I also left before they posted the afternoon results. It would be very nice to post the times online.

Bill stated at the end of the day today that they will be emailed out to all participants, look for them in your inbox in the next few days.

I must say I really like to new timing system. IMHO, a great investment.
Question: Does the timing database some sort or portal where people could see their times? I think it would be neat if I could see all my times over the course of a season.
New Trophy: Most improved over a season?

We already have a Most Improved Driver Award which is presented at the Annual COM Banquet in January. This is one of the many specialty award trophys that the club awards at the end of year banquet.
For a complete list of past winners and the conditions of awarding it, check out the awards area on our website.

Re: Will Saturday's morning/aft fast laps be posted?
This weekend was my first time out to the track as a new member of comscc. Great bunch of guys and absolutely addictive! I am planning on attending as many events as possible next year and I am already looking for some good track tires! I didn't make it out on Sunday but would love to see my times from Saturday as well as a reference point for starting out.
Re: Will Saturday's morning/aft fast laps be posted?
Just emailed the following to all registered NHMS participants - if you were not on this list or did not receive the attachments, please email me at bhoss47@comcast.net and I will send them to you.
"Our second test day with the new Timing & Scoring system went well including a little scramble to get everyone setup with an RFID card.
Attached are three files:
Best lap time by name – this report lists all competitors by last name – their best lap time – and the session that they set that time in
Nhms4 lap times – this report shows all of your lap times broken down into four session Sat Morning & Afternoon, Sunday Morning and Sunday TT
2012 NHMS 4 – Final New Class – this spreadsheet show the results for the TT based on the proposed classing system – if you have any questions here please contact Patty, Peter or Nick (nice job guys!)
When you view these reports remember a few things:
- for dual driver cars we time the car not the driver – you have to work out who was in the car when
- when you see a lap time of 1 hour or more – that’s the time in-between sessions, the system keeps timing you even when you are in the garage
There were 4 to 5 cars that I had difficulty in getting any lap times on - some cars have window tinting that makes it difficult to read the tags / other cars I had tag placement issues - if your times are not on this list you have my apologies and we are working on a solution for next year.
If you have any questions on your times, please email me.
Hope to see you all next year at our first event

Re: Will Saturday's morning/aft fast laps be posted?
After reviewing some of the results it appears that there are some bugs in the canned program reports
For the fastest lap it may not show the correct session
Some fastest laps show as almost zero - when there were two tags on the car it reads the strongest and gives that lap time - the timing software deletes any lap time less than 30 seconds while the reports program seems to miss this
For some participants who only ran on Sat - it show Sat times listed as Sunday morning times as well
During the week when I have some free time I will compile new reports b y exporting the raw data into excel and then formatting two new reports

I didn't get any official lap times Probaly due to tint issue ????
What's the fix for this
Put the rf thingy Lower on the windshield ??? Below where the tint is on front window
My best lap with the blue 2012 boss 302 was 1.22 by my program on cell phone .... Harry's lap Timer for iPhone

I posted a lengthy response yesterday but can't find it today. Perhaps I closed the window before the post actually stuck, either that or I really do suck at the internet.
Anyway....
Yes, great job Bill.
Our new timing system is new to us and we are a relatively new adopter of this type of system, at least as far as car clubs go. The system holds a lot of potential, however the software that supports it is relatively basic and needs some work, especially the reporting functions. Bill tells me that the software company is deep into development of version 2.0, which will add a host of new features. What these new features are, and whether or how we can implement them into our systems is yet to be determined, but it is clear that doing so would require some work on our end. The registration system that Fred Ferguson built for us is already pretty amazing, when you consider that he built it from scratch and all of the features it contains.
Currently, if you log into your account on our registration site, you can see all of your time trial results from 2009 to present day. That's pretty cool. There are also links to everyone else's results at those events. It would be great if we could expand that capability to include all of the times run during the event, but as I've already mentioned, there will likely be a lot of work and commitment involved. Time will tell. I'm glad we have such a talented and dedicated core of volunteers that already do so much to help out our little non-profit 100% volunteer club!
Concerning Most Improved, as Bob-B-Q Brooks already mentioned, we already have one, and have been awarding Most Improved Driver of the Year since 1985! A complete list of all of our special/annual trophies can be found in our rulebook, and also on our website here: http://www.comscc.org/events/awards/
