I think the thought process is that the necessary camber reduces with speed and banking. WGI has a mix of slow and fast so I would think that you still need a good amount of camber to handle well in the slower sections. They could of course just be trying to CTA by recommending reduced sidewall loads at the higher speeds.

This is kind of fire control for Hoosier. A friend of mine switched over to radial slicks 2 years ago and has had 4 tires completely come apart. They have been seperating at the 90 degree junction of the sidewall to tread surface. Originally Hoosier recommended similar tire pressures to the Bias ply cantilever tires we run, around 18psi cold and 26psi hot. When failures started occurring they upped that several pounds. Now it should be noted that many of us run 8-9 inch wide tires on 6-7 inch rims. This makes for lots of carcass motion in fast long turns. It often creates, apparently, to much heat in the sidewall. So Hoosier is asking us to run uber high pressures and low camber to reduce grip, in part, to keep the side walls from failing. I guess the downside of having an uber grippy tire is the side wall gets tortured. Its probably not a problem on cars that have an 9 inch wide tire on a 9 inch wide rim.

Hoosier has always listed high recommended tire pressures even for drag race apps. I think it is CYA for them. The would recommend 20 psi in quick time pros and I''ve run as low as 7.5 no issues for years..20 psi in a 31x18.5 would hold up a good size truck
Our vetts are eating r6's in 2 events at most 3 so I dont think the side walls get a chance to give up before the tread is done... I have seen the failure before it looks just like the picture tire rack shows of the tire that was exposed to too cold a temp and cracked at the intersection of the side wall and the tread..
