need info on running my Nascar East series car
I have a road course Nascar K and N east series car I purchased from the race team I work for. I bought specifically to run comscc.
Car was last run in 2010 at LRP.
My question is this car is not equiped with a passenger seat.(and im not about to cut out some of the rollbars to make room for a seat) Would the instructors use a chase vehicle or???
Also is there any muffler/sound reuirements?
thanx in advance

The requirement for the passenger seat is for instruction, the two way communication is an important part of the learning experience. I'm pretty sure the suggestion would be to use an alternate vehicle until such time that you are licensed. From a safety standpoint there is no requirement for the passenger seat if you have cage roof reinforcements (petty bar) on the passenger side.
For the sound requirements:
For the sound requirements:
No dB weighting scale is mentioned so the 99 number is a bit vague.VI G 3. Track imposed maximum sound limits will be in effect at COM events for all classes. Sound limit at all tracks is
99 Db or less at 50 feet while under power on the track. Each competitor is responsible for meeting track-specific
sound limits. For Time Trials, a noise violation results in disqualification with no points awarded for the event and
no refund.

Actually that whole thing about 99db should be scrapped as we run whatever the track allows.

I wonder if it's time for an updated list of track dB limits.

Welcome Heywood! I'd love to see that thing on the road course. I was told when I was asking to renew my license in the dwarf car that lead/follow instruction was available, I don't see it being an issue since you have racing experience.

Experience makes a big difference, he probably should have mentioned that

Re: need info on running my Nascar East series car
Been racing circle track for many years, last being 450h.p. Late Model Sportsman class. Just sick of having to rebuild my cars race after race.....watching 30,000 worth of racecar destroyed in one lap because of "rookies" to put it nicely. Looking forward to running in a low risk setting, and bringing my car home in one piece every weekend!! From what I've heard from people who run with you, there is much respect on and off the track.
Trying to get the car together for the next event at NHMS...
thanx to all for the advice!! I'm sure I'll have many more questions as the date gets closer.

Looks like car won't be ready till next year. Spent the last 3 weeks building another "circle" track car. Also funds are low lol. But the good news is I have all the parts needed to finish, except the right ford 9in gears, and an oil accumulator. Should be all set to hit the track next year.

Perhaps a reach-out to the Footes. They ran, I think it was Brian Walls', roadrace T-bird for a couple of years. I remember a sub 2:10 lap at the Glen which seemed crazy fast for a full bodied car at the time. Now we have street cars in that range.

Dave Foote sold the car, truck, and trailer about 2 years ago all for $10K. Who ever bought the package got a steal. It was a Laughlin car that Brian Wall had won the glen with. It had a mid 90's 9:1 engine dynoed at ~635 hp, a 6 speed richmond box, and did not need much more than a new nose hung. The truck was a 1999 f250 with v10, with an enclosed trailer included. Daves PA record that he set in 1999 was just broken last month.

I'd like to go to the next event to see how things operate. What is the cost for spectators to get in pits?
