David Loring Passes On
David Loring Passes On
One of the great race car drivers you (may) never heard of passed away over the weekend. I never met him, but remember seeing his name in race results & writeup back in the 70s & 80s, always with the impression that this was a driver who made good things happen with the wheel in his hands. Without money or regular sponsors to back him, he was often just another great driver without a ride. So he designed, built & wrenched to pay the bills - not a lot of coaching DE/club racers going on back then like there is today. The guy who told me was a close friend, and said David was still racing & winning as recently as two years ago. David was originally from Massachusetts, and lived in New England most of his life. He was 61.

Autodynamics huh? I know a guy who was pretty close with those guys. Steve Atherton and Ronnie Morse (I think). They just had a big reunion at Limerock recently.grovefromnh wrote:Dmn. They built those crazy vw beetle based, cars that everyone loved, as well as built/raced open wheel cars.
P.S. Newb here. I haven't even had a chance to make an introductory posting yet..... that reminds me.....
