Hi,
Just discovered that Tirerack does not carry NT01 (where I usually buy tires).
Is there any local source?
Should I get them from Discount Tire Direct (not sure if they would arrive in time - need them by friday).
Heat cycling - if I use them for the first session of day 1 can I use them day 2 (what I did with my current set) or is it really better to leave them until the next event? Will it make any difference for me anyway?
thanks,
Rebecca
best place to buy NT01?
Re: best place to buy NT01?
I don't know if they are the 'best place', but Phil's Tire Service in NY sells them. If you order Tuesday they will likely be here in time. Orders usually arrive next-day via UPS ground, but the Nittos are usually drop-shipped and take 2 days (or perhaps longer).
I would not bother with the heat cycle or shaving. Just drive 'em. That's what I do.

I always get tires from Treadzone in 2 days or less: http://www.treadzone.com/tireList.aspx
My personal opinion on the Nittos is that they grip well (very similar to RA1s) but could use a modest shave. At full tread there was a delay between turn-in and the tire actually turning the car. Noticed it the most at LRP in the Uphill and Downhill.

I usually get them in 2 days from DTD, I think they stock them in either NJ or DE. I just drive them too, never noticed any improvement from heat cycling the Nittos.
Phone it in to confirm delivery times, either DTD or Phil's. DTD includes free shipping.
