When I get a chance I'll ask Bill McCurdy at William's Racing about this. I was at his shop last week and a customer must have just dropped one off ( a Ford Duratec ). It was still hanging from the engine crane and I asked if we could weigh it. They are nice motors, it weighed 198 lbs. including the ignition in the cardboard box on top and the chain holding the motor. It had a flex plate instead of a real flywheel though. He's done something like a half dozen of these in the last year or two.

Another thing is, it used to be anyway, that Mazda rotary cars had really nice oil coolers. You might be able to get one of those at a junkyard. Some of them had built in thermostats.

Sam, If you need an oil cooler from an RX7 try; http://www.rx7club.com. Site is very useful other than it is mostly kids who want huge wheels and loud stereos. But they do sell alot of parts, sometimes way below what they are really worth. Too bad you didn't ask a couple of years ago, at one time I think I had 3 or 4. Good luck
