FS: 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege - Price Change

Post by FastOrange » Thu Aug 09, 2012 10:58 am

For sale is my 2003 Mazda Mazdaspeed Protege. The car has 150,000 miles and has had all major service recently.

I'm asking $4900 or best offer as the car comes with some extras included. It's all negotiable.

Please email me at dgriswold1@yahoo.com or call Dave at 978-210-9925. If I miss you, please leave a message and I will call you back.

This has been my daily driver for the past 8.5 years and has always been meticulously maintained and cared for and always waxed.

The car is basically stock except for a slightly modified aftermarket matched suspension (details below) and an upgraded Side Mount Intercooler.

It has always been run at stock boost and has never seen a manual boost controller.

Oil has always been Mobil 1 or equivilent full synthetic, as has transmission gear oil.

In the last few months the car has had the following items serviced.

Timing Belt and water pump
Wastegate Actuator - Forge Performance part, which is serviceable
New tires - Sumitomo HTR ZIII Max Performance Summer (4500 miles on them)
Coolant Flush
Spark Plugs and Wires
K&N Air Filter

In the past year the car has had the following items addressed

New OEM clutch (made by Exedy)
New OEM limited slip differential - Differential casing was professionally welded to avoid failure
New suspension - Tokico Advanced Handling kit matched springs and shocks
Swaybar end links at all 4 corners

There's probably something I'm forgetting, but it's likely minor.

Also included in the sale price, if you want any of this stuff are:

4 - additional Racing Hart 17" forged rims with Michelin Pilot Alpin snow tires (Rims were off of a Mazda MP3 and were rashed a bit when I bought them. They're not bent)
1 - Factory technician service manual with all procedures, torque specs, etc
1 - Injen Cold Air Intake.
1 - Factory OEM Side Mount Intercooler
1 - OEM original suspension (Racing Beat Springs and Tokico Blue shocks)
1 - set of 4 Eibach Camber Bolts
1 - Whatever else I find laying around for the car before now and it's eventual purchase.

Below are some pics and commments that illustrate the condition of the car.

The good:

The car is in great shape and the paint shines!

The water beads nicely

A little bit of wear on the left of the steering wheel. I have no idea why.

Upgrade Kenwood Headunit over the factory unit

Kenwood factory 250 watt amp and 8" subwoofer mounted in trunk

Some minor issues.

The car is missing the rim center caps on the passenger side. Likely due to when I had the wheels balanced out of state and they weren't secured properly. A couple of the rims have some curb rashing, much of which was there when I bought the car.

Image

There is some minor rust starting around the rear passenger wheel well.

Image

The drivers seat has a small tear in a vinyl insert. *note* this is not a tear into the seat. Simply the gray fabric. This was replaced under warranty and happened a second time. It's just the way it's designed.

Image

There is a crack in the front lip wind splitter.

Image

The car is in otherwise great, strong running condition. Clean title in hand. Make me an offer.

In keeping consistent with my craigslist posting on this car, I've reduced the price to $4900.

Thanks.
