Here's one of mine from Sunday morning.

Throttle stayed flat on the floor when I lifted at the brake point to 1. We fixed it (thanks to Pat M and Butch!) and couldn't find anything wrong with the throttle cable, so I took it out for the afternoon session. Second lap out it stuck flat at the tree house, so I shut it off and coasted to the pits and took it home. Turned out my air cleaner separated from my cold air hose and the engine ingested some OPR (other people's rubber). There was a piece about .250 diameter and 2" long bent in half around the bottom of the throttle plate and a few more in the inside of the air cleaner that were apparently too heavy for the airflow to carry. Really doesn't take much to screw things up! Could have been worse, though.

Wow didn't know you hit the wall! Any pics of the damage? That could have been a lot worse.

Ouch. Was sorry to hear about the damage John, but at least now you know the cause. That OPR gets everywhere!
I guess I've always had a fear that the car would pull towards the wall under braking if something weird were to happen so I tend to brake on a lower line into T1 even though it means you're going downhill and thus less efficient.

Only real damage was a pretzle-looking lower control arm an ball joint. And a few more scrapes in the paint Oh, and 2 flat spotted V710's.

Yes that was me in the green mazda. There were a few confusing things which happened before T12 earlier in the lap (the driver of the red miatta waving to the corner workers) and I really though something was wrong with his car coming out of T12 and I over reacted.

According to the skid marks it braked very straight ( but the track turned left )Chrispy wrote:Ouch. Was sorry to hear about the damage John, but at least now you know the cause. That OPR gets everywhere!
