I need to dial out a bit of understeer and learn the new power curve, I should be able to improve on that lap time.

Re: July pictures and videos
The aim had me at a 1:19.2 and the longacre had me at a 1:19.4. That's a big difference. We'll see when the results are posted which one was more accurate. Do you think you could send me the data? I am curious what speeds I was doing where. I bogged down a couple times during the time trial due to the cel being on. I think it was just dumping a ton of fuel into the engine because I ended up going through 10-12 gallons worth of fuel in 50 track miles! I wanted to stay for open track and trophies but was worried about the engine. I was very close to limping it in after the first time trial lap but then I said F*ck it!

Re: July pictures and videos
I was also using an Aim Solo during the time trial. I didn't double-check it with a hot lap timer, but here is how it compares with the TT hand timing...
Times from my Aim:
1:21.99
1:22.02
1:21.92
Total: 4:05.93, Average: 1:21.98
And from the hand-timed TT:
1:22.105
1:21.937
1:22.109
Total: 4:06.15, Average: 1:22.05
So it looks like there might be some variation, beyond margin of error for a hand timer, +/- 1 or 2 tenths per lap, and off by -0.22 over the 3 laps in total. The manufacturers claim it is more accurate than a Hot Lap Timer, and being a 10hz GPS based system it should be accurate +/- 1/100...but of course they would say that. Maybe the start/finish marker was off by a little bit...

I'm thankful for the variance....this time. The Aim timing showed that I got beat by Parsons in the TT by .02.

Holy crap! That last one is so dangerous and erratic. What was he thinking there?

The 2nd one was just as bad on Rob's part. When he finally got the pass signal he buzzed the bumper of the other car to show his displeasure.

The absolute minimum accuracy should be 1/10th since that is it's log interval (plus GPS positioning error), interpolation can take that to about 4/100ths but combined with accelerometer data it should be accurate within 1/100th. This of course is if they wrote the software correctlyblindsidefive0 wrote:I was also using an Aim Solo during the time trial. Slowing down for the..speed bump...?

It's not what you drive, it's how you drive. "Lap times matter"
Re: July pictures and videos
Sometimes I think the "safe" thing to do is better than the "correct HPDE" thing to do...which is to get around the car in front in these videos to get the hell away from them. But I'm sure the COM instructors would frown upon my proposed actions so I won't post them (I would have passed all 3 cars in those corners).

I think that may have been me in front of the green Rx-7. I may have gotten very loose at track-out and the driver of the Rx-7 might of reacted to that. I think!breakaway500 wrote:"Holy crap! That last one is so dangerous and erratic. What was he thinking there?"

Thats not you Steve. I talked to both of them about what happen I'm just glad I didn't hit him.
I did not expect that driver to slow as much as he did on the back straight most of the time it is very hard for me to pass because people are on the gas hard and give a very small lift or no lift he just happened to be very generous.Chrispy wrote:The 2nd one was just as bad on Rob's part.
