karts

Post by 962porsche » Mon Jul 02, 2012 8:03 pm

so i have this old 1982 husky 500cc motorcycle single cylinder ,air cooled ,2 stroke .
the bike needs alot of work but the motor fires right up and runs great .
what i would like to know is if i put that motor in a kart chassis do you think it could handle the HP and tork of the motor ?
the motor's hp and tork is about 60 HP & 60 FT LBS TORK .
do you think the kart chassis could handle it ??? then there are the brakes ?
or maybe a formula 440 / 500 chassis ? but it sure would be a blast in a kart chassis .

a 440/500 would be a better candidate. Check with Jonathan Whorf in COM. He has not brought his out in a while.

i have been looking on line for a roller 440/500 or even just a chassis for one . they seam to be very hard to come by . the ones the are running and driving are more than i want to spend for a parking lot toy .
that is what got me thinking about a kart chassis . they can be had for cheap and there are many to pick from .
