Bob, I like your line in the oval better than mine - probably good for 2-3 car lengths beginning to end. When I was behind you, you didn't brake going in- maybe a little lift that's all? I see a couple other places I need to work on too. Thanks!
Tom: If you look at the datalogger plot I posted in this thread the first lift off the throttle is for turn 1. I'm lifting to about 50% throttle for about 200'. I suspect I should be lifting for less time, but it's a hard thing to convince myself of :-)

If you have good tires, you shouldn't need to brake and the lift should be small :-)

Tom, are you braking hard into 3? Looks like you're on the brakes well before the first cone all the way to after turn in.
Do your brakes suck that bad? Are you riding them? Old Mustang habit?

Most are on the gas before turn in.

Thanks Les. Brakes are good; I think I'm resting my foot on the pedal a bit early, and braking for too long.... And yeah, the old Mustang habits are tough to break... but having a car that turns when you want it to is nice.

Tom,

Don't be too worried about dragging the brake around T3. I have it on pretty good authority that the SPC class record was set by a Miata that typically trail-brakes at T3. ;)

Then again, that guy's rear wing is a lot bigger than yours.

Holy oil! Can't believe he kept going after he put the wipers on and it smudged the entire windshield. I would have pitted.

Nick, i agree. I just didn't realize it was oil and tried to clear it a few times making it worse. By the time I got onto the front straight I slowed down realizing it wasn't getting any better and went around to pit.
