Windshield Crack

Post by mike140 » Wed May 23, 2012 6:33 pm

Driving around today and got a crack in my windshield about 12" long :(
I've called all of the glass shops around here and they don't have a replacement in stock, so it looks like I may not get it done in time for this weekend.
I've looked through the rules and didn't see anything specific regarding windshield cracks (correct me if I'm wrong here). Is this something that is 100% not acceptable and I just shouldn't bother showing up if I don't get it replaced in time?

thanks.

It it is not going to interfere with your vision or start shedding bits, it will probably pass.

"All glass must be in place as delivered from the factory."
"Stock glass windshield and rear glass must be used."
"All cars, except “Prepared” class cars, must be equipped with a full height and width windshield."

That's all I could find on glass.

I didn't see anything specifically about cracks or other imperfections in the rules..and like Nate stated, as long as the crack is not in your vision and splintering,it should be Ok.

Great! The crack is on the passenger side so it doesn't get in the way.
Thanks for the quick replies.
