Maybe I was confused with the stock shock mounting rule, I just re-read it.

Springs of any origin may be used, provided they fit
without any changes in chassis or spring mounting points.
Spring spacers/shackles may be added to adjust ride
height. Spring perches which are adjustable by means of a
threaded collar are allowed. In vehicles using torsion bar
suspensions, the diameter (but not the length) of the torsion
bars may be changed.

Alright, I buy an STi for street use and I cause another whole rule battle  SO in order to stop this battle.....I returned the STi this morning and bought a simple 02 WRX with only 37,000 miles on it instead. So now you guys can start battling over a different class. :D

Dude!

My Tein Flex's will fit the 02 WRX PERFECTLY. It'll be a total ST1 class killer car, especially when piloted by one such as yourself!

So when do you want to pick them up? ;)

Seriously though, the WRX is a better car for everyday driving. Far more comfortable, and can play when asked to. STi is just much too much if you aren't taking it to the race track.

Those are probably too stiff for me for street use. Remember I already own 2 race-only cars.

Gary,

Talk with Kevin Foote (the younger) to get the best advise for suspension for your needs in that car.

And don't listen too much to the rest of these subie guys. The cars are great on the track, but except for the old normally aspirated 2.5RS, they don't hold up well over time. A good portion of the subie guys have gone to miatas. I'm a deviant and went to my CRX. I couldn't bring myself to drive a miata racecar and leave the Cobra in the garage. Just too redundant.

You could browse the classifieds for a set of 05/06 STi take off struts& springs. The 05/06 are completely different versions of struts & springs than the 04.
I don't think that would work, Joe. 05/06 lower brackets are wider and the bolt holes are further apart. With an 02 WRX, not a lot of suspension clunking issues. Just with the STi's.
