Hi Rebecca:
I just called them for other info on classroom, etc.
There is camping and there are shower facilities plus an extra shower with bathroom. SO YES
ALso I inquired about food nearby and they said in addition to food available at the track there is a small restaurant nearby.

So looks if weather cooperates I will also camp. If it rains forgetaboutit for I have been at too many of these wet scout camping with my boys and had enough!

The track is several miles from town. There really are no local services around the track. I'll be camping. More than 10 years ago when we first went to SP, several arrived in the early evening the night before. There was no barrier to track so many of us took our tow vehicles fore a spin- while others were walking the track. Mark Epstein drove his RV around at speed-- leaning greatly. I know because I passed him in my F150.I don't think we will get away with this anymore.

I plan to camp and I think FF is to. He has his camping truck with the comforts of home. I have my camping truck with the comforts of GM. I also plan to be self suffucient and will plan extra meals like midnight buffets and early morning omlets, hash browns, hot coffee and tea. Maybe I can swap some breakfast meals for gas.....I prefer jet or rocket fuel ...

Happy to hear that there are now showers. Was told earlier that there were none.

Don't forget to make sure you sign up for the all you can eat COM BBQ on Monday night.

See you in WV with lots of SUN, SUN, SUN and DRY, DRY, DRY

Shake N Bake.

Please note that the track has revised its corner numbers from turns 6-9. The track guide reflects the latest from the track's web site.

Hey COM'ers

I just found out my schedule will allow me to come to the Summit Point event.
I see reg is closed.
I clicked the tab for requesting late registration.

What is the usual procedure for that?
How soon do you get word?

If I can't do COM I'll try to go to the Glen with Resientoter the same days,,, but I'd rather do a TT than a DE...

Thanks.
Hope to see you guys there.
Cheers

Strange, it seems like the registration closed early as it showed open through Apr 30th - although the time was never mentioned.

I was trying to see if I could get some locals to sign up as students.

Hey Guys,

Looking forward to seeing you there Mick!

Where are you staying?

I am torn between trailer camping and hotel.
The facilities at Summit are not great,,, not horrible but not great.

I'm going to watch the weather.
As long as its not going to be awful, I may trailer camp in the box.
I have lived (barely) through some really shit storms trailer camping and thats no fun.
If its going to be nice enough to park the car outside without it becoming an aquarium I may do that.

When I stay at hotels I usually stay at the Hampton Inn just off Inwood Road exit.
Its clean and in a great location.
Parking for vehicles with trailers is a little tight sometimes, but there is a huge shopping center lot across the street if necessary.
There is a great (really actually great) mexican restaurant just around the corner.

A bit farther from the track than the Charlestown options, but those are usually awful.
I've stayed at all of them and the only decent one is the new Holiday in, which they know that,,, and its about 40% more expensive than all the other Charlestown hotels.
