License Updates ?
Curious, will we have updated Licenses for the April Test or are we good to go knowing who is who ? Also, any idea if & when we will get new ones & if they will say "Competition" as they did last year, for say an LRP Test ( I think there is even one prior to NHMS Test day ) ?
Thanks
Pat
Thanks

Have any members been allowed to test at an LRP T&T with only a COM Competition License?

Re: License Updates ?
At work now, did look at mine just the other day ..... thought it expired 2011, I could be wrong though ...
I do know Dad lost his, which hasn't been an issue w/ COM, but will if we try LRP ....
Yes, according to Dan the COM "Competition" license is accepted and they backed that up via phone last season, is a bit strange but it is all in the wording "Competition vs TT " ....
Looking myself toward LRP T&T day vs Summit Point simply on a dollar vs time basis ... that and not 100% sure I want to re-learn to drive my car on a strange track w/ 538hp/502ftlbs under the hood it could be a handful ( yes, no way will it meet db, sounds nasty, but LRP does have un-muffled days ) ....

Re: License Updates ?
Last summer I took a ride to LRP with Dan D, when he brought his Chevron, and I witnessed the track official accepting the COM license. The event was from 1:00 - 6:00, and each of the three run groups got 5, 20 minute unmuffled sessions. The big bore guys had it made because there were only half a dozen of them. From what I remember it was $275 per car.
Re: License Updates?
Cool. I'd asked because LRP was a little slow getting back to me re: our licenses being good down there, and I'm planning on bringing a couple of people to help me & didn't want to be get there only to find out it wasn't happening. Cathy, the Ofc. Mgr., just responded to my query, and says that Scott Mayo, Ops. Mgr., says COM licenses are good to go at this year's Tuesday T&Ts.
It's decent bang for the buck at $250 if you register by the preceding Friday, or $275 at the gate. I need a dry track, so I'll wait 'til Friday or later to see what the weather is likely to be.

Re: License Updates ?
Yeah I too would like to know if we are getting license cards. I am still rocking my student permit card (which it says expires 12/31/12) even though I was licensed at Mosport last May.

Re: License Updates ?
I did a couple of Lime Rock test and tune days last year with my Chevron Formula Atlantic. They accepted my Com license with out a questions. The test and tune days have no noise restrictions. There was also no tech inspection, no one to check you before you go out on track, and no one checked my suite, helmet, or other safety equipment. I was late for a session and ran with out my arm restraints ---- no one to check you before you enter the track. Price was $275 on the day of test and tune. I don't sign up ahead as I have no rain tires and my car is "one of one" and I don't want to hurt it if it rained .

Re: License Updates ?
So mine still reads tt what do we do about that?
Re: License Updates ?
Licenses have been printed and are off to fulfillment (stuffing large envelopes, mailing them out). Bill H has volunteered to stuff & mail envelopes, but it is a big job of about 300 packets. That's a lot of hats, stickers, membership cards, etc!
Members that have renewed their 2012 memberships will receive a membership packet in the coming week(s). Inside the packet will contain some COM gear and your membership/license/permit card.
As someone already mentioned, the 2011 cards expire at the end of 2012. Members can also print a temporary license by logging into their account on the registration site.
All of this brings up a great point...!
Do you like printing licenses & stuffing envelopes? Volunteers are always welcome!
We understand that members want their 2012 licenses ASAP, however our goal is to provide them at or before COM's first event of the year, and we will deliver on that goal.
Thanks for your patience,
Will
