Unsolicited emails
Just read the announcement in the "COM news and info section" regarding unsolicited emails, but could not comment in that thread,so I opened this one. I have also received emails with COM members names listed as the sender, but I absolutely know that these members did not send them. Both of the emails had malware etc attached and my software did catch it,however, had I been on my PC,I'm not so sure the outcome would have been as pleasant. I don't know if a Bot is targeting COM members and using other COM member names as bait or what, but beware that something or someone is using actual COM member names to email other COM members. (this happened twice in the last week)

Re: Unsolicited emails
Wonder if it's tied to the email we received for the banquet that had every members email address on it. 1121 of them to be exact!

Yeah, someone hacked or spamed my email. I changed my password...so hopefully no more problems.jlwhorf wrote:Mark, I had one in my spam folder that was addressed from Greg L.

Someone did the same to Richard Murphy last year. Got lots of bad stuff until he changed password.betelgeuse wrote:Yeah, someone hacked or spamed my email. I changed my password...so hopefully no more problems.jlwhorf wrote:Mark, I had one in my spam folder that was addressed from Greg L.
