I'm working on my schedule for this year with an eye to attending all the events. As I only attended the event at the Glen last year, I'm out of date on the registration fees for the other tracks. Is it known yet what they will be for Mosport, NHMS 2-Day, NHMS 3-Day, and Summit Point - or, can some reasonable estimates be made based on last year's fees? Is the Glen expected to be the same as 2011?

As I recall,$225/day for most events,give or take $25/day. Glad to hear you are planning a full schedule...

Don't forget the participation discount. You get $40 off the next event for each weekend you participate in. You can save the points to use at the end of the year but they go away at the end of the season so best to just use them as you get them.

Thanks, guys - I'd forgotten all about the discount, too, which will definitely increase the all-important spousal acceptance factor!

We'll set the official rates early in the year, usually at the February meeting.
You can certainly use 2011 as a guide. If track rental fees and insurance premiums don't get jacked, rates will not be much different.
My bet would be on the same rates as last year.
I haven't run the math, and don't know if we can afford it, but I think it would be great to repeat 2011 rates and perhaps increase the loyalty/participation/"points" discount in a meaningful way.
Remember that COM is a non-profit organization and we actually run it as such! Officers, directors, and staff all volunteers and nobody takes home a check. Any profits the club makes are retained by the club and given back to the members in one way or another. The principal way we "give back" is to keep the club running, and that means that we need to maintain a certain amount of cash, both for monthly cash flows & rainy-day funds. Some shrewd cost-cutting moves, (hotly-debated) decisions to drop massively expensive events <cough> Mt. Tremblant </cough> for a season or two, and some winning strategies in attracting new members, we're in a good place. We have our feet solidly planted in the present but continue to look to the future with an eye toward small investments in our systems/infrastructure (timing & scoring systems mainly), but that

Not to get to far off the topic, but are we likely to go with an AMB system anytime soon? There's a big investment needed from the club, but also by the members for the gizmo if they don't currently run SCCA, so if we're leaning that way we should get the word out so folks can get what they need to accommodate.
