Karma

Video from day 1, 1st session on the oval. Engine goes kaboom exiting turn 2 of the oval. You can hear it let go with the volume cranked, along with why this is called Karma. :(

BTW, As you can tell I did not really get a chance to drive the oval "properly" since this was the first laps of the first session. Seems like I could have turned in later and stayed a bit wider and use a bit more of the banking. Maybe next year when I have more than 4 laps, i'll be able to figure it out better.

+1

Sorry Nick. Not a very good way to finish the season, but on the other hand, better to happen now than at the beginning of the season.

Here's to a successful off-season of rebuild !

Thanks guys. Yep thats exactly what I said when it happened. I was glad it happened here and not at WGI, which is my favorite event. I will probabaly just throw another engine in it and part mine out. I am almost positive there is a hole in the 4th piston. Time to upgrade my 3.0 with a 3.2. The extra torque will be nice.

Thanks Jeff. I took the valve cover off and saw absolutely nothing wrong (from what I could see) in the valve train. It is possible there was an ignition issue or lean condition. Still unsure what happened but there is definitely a hole in the piston. I hope to pull it within the next two weeks.
