Auto-X

Post by Chrispy » Wed Sep 28, 2011 11:32 am

Figured I would throw this out there in case there is any interest. There is a BSCC auto-x event at Deven's this Saturday, I'm sure they would love to have some extra drivers. Good way to keep your skills sharp between track events or burn up some old race tires you've been meaning to get rid of. They tend to average about 9-10 runs on the long course (if they have enough participants) and 12+ on the short course. Registration closes midnight tonight. Cash walk ins might be ok but I would clear it with one of the contacts first.

Here's a video of myself driving there last weekend through Troy and crews fabulously designed course.

As usual Chris, you make it look OH so easy. I emailed Mark Stimpson to see if the Atom would be OK..it would make a nice shake down run for the "new" Atom! :D

edit: I'm in! Chris, thanks for posting this. I was hoping to get a chance to try out the "new" Atom before NHMS4, as driving around town just doesn't cut it... :sunny:

Hi Paul.I do miss a/x but not the hrs of standing around. I like being out on the course...but would sure like to bring a fold-up camping chair out there, for the times when you could take a seat....Image

I know why they don't...some stupid ass would get themselves run over...asleep in a chair....Image

Hell,it almost happens when they are standing.. ...

Hrs on my feet are what I do for a living..not for fun..

I am sure some would bring one of these...Image

I recently read someone in Austrailia set a new "couch" land speed record...at over 100mph... 8) :sunny: (GSX1400 powered...) http://video.carsguide.com.au/214417889 ... test-couch
But I digress... C-U there. :D :sunny:

Did you mount sliders to the seat in the Atom so I can drive it? :)

Fun event, even in the wet. My beastie Atom on slicks was..interesting...a spin fest! At least I know the car will run for more than 150 feet.. Nice job on first place in FWD,Rebecca! (you even beat the Atom... )

I drove 3 cars. The Masiello drift Mustang, Mark's new more powerful Corvette and Troy's Miata on rain tires. I spun the Corvette halfway down the first section, when that car starts sliding it takes a lot to catch it. The Mustang was easy to throttle steer but was hard to go fast. Troy's Miata was by far the easiest to drive quickly in the wet conditions.
