Re: Vintage at WGI
going to try 90 west route. Been the other way too many times anyway. Going out Saturday, will look for familiar faces.
Re: Vintage at WGI
The less bumpy route on 90 sounds favorable pulling my trailer and truck with HD suspension.

88 to 17 is fine. The real challenge is the shortcut route through Ithaca. It's a roller coaster. Wouldn't affect a diesel, but my small block Ford has issues with it.

Jeff, Rt.84 to Rt 17 is the slowest way. Rt 90-Rt.88-Rt17 is the shortest, Rt90-Rt414 is the flat-est and has the most services.
As Mark has stated, I got a flat on my trailer, a few weeks ago, while doing Rt.88. The tire hit a sharp edge of the concrete in a construction zone. I have learned to carry two spares for the trailer, as it is a little overloaded. The Rt.90 to Rt.414 toll is $19.30, The Rt.90 to Rt. 88 is $4 and some change. The Rt.90 -Rt88 is about 15-20 minutes quicker than the staying on Rt.90 but I too prefer the Northern Rt.90 route because of is flatness, easier ride (less bumps) and many service plazas. I have done the Rt.84 route once and would never-ever go that way again ! I like Mark also enjoy the lake views and the wineries along Rt.414. Plus I usually have to drop off or pick up at my friend, Patty's house in Lodi NY , half way down Seneca Lake on Rt. 414.

We all should keep an eye on the NY Thruway website. This morning, 100 miles of rte90 near the Mohawk river are closed, and 88/17 are closed in Binghamton, Johnson City and past the horse track.
Binghamton is being evacuated along the Chenango and

This just in from Patty (she is located in Lodi)
"I hope none of the club members coming in for the Vintage Racing area are taking the Ithaca routes. There are State of Emergencies in a lot of counties in the Ithaca to Binghamton area, most schools from here to the Ithaca area are closed. Even Cornell University has canceled all classes. The rain has let up for now, and due to clear by tomorrow but for today, low lying area might be risky to plan on travel."

Re: Vintage at WGI
Jeff I did the rt84 to rt17 and Dan D is right it takes a lot longer and it was one of the most boring rides I have taken....So I think I am going too go to rt90 in mass.and the go to rt88 and the to rt17 unless I find that rt88 or rt17 in or around binghamton is closed and then if it is I will go rt 90 in mass to exit 41 in ny and then rt414 even with it costing me almost $40 ......I am in hopes too be leaving home some where around 10am on sunday
Re: Vintage at WGI
Looks like 90 to Syracuse, then 81 south to Cortland then off thru Ithaca to the Glen would also work and reduce the tolls. The NY state map doesn't show any issues http://www.511ny.org/traffic.aspx I have to stop in Interlaken at some point so I'll probably do 90 to 414 on the way there.
