For a reference, the top National SCCA Spec Miatas were running around a 2:20 in early July. Best I can do is a 2:23.5

Pete Artsinger in my 1.6 with me in it, on NTO-1's, best time without someone to chase 1:25.8

His best time chasing someone in my car 1.25.1. 5600 rpm at the T11 exit, he told me there's nothing left in the car.

I believe the "no timing" rule is one of those "rules" that is not strictly enforced; at least 1/3 of the cars there had timers in them.
Besides...you can always have a friend time your laps with a stopwatch...

I am unable to turn off the timing device - it's compulsory timing!

I suppose I could have used duct tape, but the chief instructor didn't have any around
