Up for sale is a 1995 Neon Race Car. It is a Former SCCA SSC ( Showroom Stock C) car that was used for Enduros for the most part and moved into ITA ( Improved Touring A) when it’s eligibility for SSC ran out. It was run in the NE division and comes with a log book. It was a race winner at Summit Point a few years back in an enduro.

A friend bought it last year after he had a delay with a Track day project car. He did not race it but ran several HPDE and Open track events with BMWCCA and SCDA. I traded a project car for it this summer with plans to use it for Ice racing this winter. After getting the car I realized it was too nice for Ice racing and planned to get involved with club racing and possibly share the car with family and friends in enduros. Well Life has changed and I am moving so it has to go. The car was recently used at Calabogie Motorsports park for a 3 day HPDE/Open track event by 2 drivers and ran well.
The Car is a 1995 Neon 4 door sedan with a bolt in cage, Mopar IT Crate motor ( told no longer available) with a Moroso extra capacity oil pan ( 6.25-7 qts), Mopar ECU, ACR transmission with a different 5th gear, New Clutch and throw-out bearing installed just before previous owner bought it , Marren injectors, Long tube header, poly bushings, aluminum seat with seat brace, fire extinguisher, multi panel mirror, 4 sets of wheels (Toyo R888 on car, a set of yoko Avids and the rest are used up hoosiers) , 5 lug hubs with the ACR brakes, Hawk DTC 60 pads front and rear. Has a Quick fill for fuel for refueling in enduros. Has 4 hella lights on a light bar for the front.

It has a 5 pt harness in it, but would need a new one for SCCA compliance for Club racing. Other than that I think window net ( has one, not installed) as well as some Hoosier R6’s and go play.

Some spares ( besides all the wheels) – a set of rotors, front DTC60 pads, front hubs, wiring harness, another aluminum seat and harness if you want to use for HPDE/Track days, spare hood, spare trunk, drivers door, 2 rear doors , stock ECU and some other misc used parts. There is a used motor, condition unknown but I think it is stock and needs work.

Hi DJ! Hope your move goes well. You still have a track day credit coming to you for your work at Monticello last year, remember?
The car is interesting, but needs a bunch of retro work to fit in ST. Great ice racer though!

Hey Sam,

How have you been. I was thinking about trying to make this car fit into a COM class somehow. Loving the Nismo 350Z but do not want to Time Trial it as my insurance only covers HPDE. Sucks - I want to get back to a COM event!

It would be a SPC car as it sits I guess. ST requires carpets and seats and stock spec motor.

Come to the Glen in September. No one says you have to run in the time trial, right?

i agree with sam.

when i looked into insurance it would cover everything except the time trail laps.

I wondered about running both days and not doing the TT laps, I am not sure I could resist......
