Don't know what you screwed up or missed but I sure like having these study guides, Nate! Thanks for making them available in advance of the event. Nate - as always, your guide is a fantastic read!
Couple of comments:
1. Passing Zones - I would expect we could consider opening these up, at least for the licensed folks. If my memory serves me correctly, you can actually get a bit of passing done between 5 and 6 (this is a very gentle curve in the track, taken flat out in most cars - there is plenty of room to get by on the right if someone stays wide for you). Same story between 8 and 9, 8 is "barely" a turn, and there is plenty of room to let a car or two by before entering the light bulb. Finally, between the exit of the light bulb and 10, there is more room to get by there. 10 isn't a very sharp corner at all, and again is taken flat out in many cars.
The comments re: passing above come from a fairly well versed source (me), as I was driving a bone stock E36 325i earlier this year on track with a bunch of monster EVO's, STi's, Corvette's, etc. at a NASA event, so needless to say, my left arm was out the window most of the day. They had open passing on the entire course, and the sections I listed above worked pretty well for me. Perhaps the instructors could huddle around lunchtime on day 1 to talk through these, after getting a chance to drive them.
2. Turn 5 - can't stress enough here that you absolutely can't early apex here. Needs to be mid/late, and you need to keep turning (let's just say I found this out the hard way). There is plenty of sand/gravel, so you won't go far, and likely won't damage the car at all, but its never fun to go off roading in a racecar...
Can't wait to see you all on Monday in Millville (assuming we've truly put the fuel pump issues to bed on Nick's 325i...!
