Cheap hotel for NJMP

Post by jeffw » Fri Jul 08, 2011 4:43 pm

The Country Inns & Suites has a good deal on advance purchase for our trip to NJMP. It's $66/night.

Curious ...
Do we get to camp (ie: sleep it off in the trailer oven night like we did @ Thunderbolt) @ NJMP Lightening ?
Does Lighting have the "Hotels" above the garges like Thunderbolt ?
Sure beats the hotel extra's.

There are no garages at Lightning. No hotels either.

Lightning has some paved area in the paddock, and tons more grass/gravel. Given the number of people currently registered, I suspect everyone will find plenty of space on the hot top.

They do have air (for tires, not for tools) in the registration building/control tower.

There is also the Holiday Express in Millville for $71. We stayed there last year and had the FREE breakfast with scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, muffins, waffles, cereal, bacon, sausage, juices, coffee. Its an all you can eat breakfast. Worth an easy Sawbuck.

I might stay there again and would need a roommate. Contact me.

The COM word of the day is sawbuck
Sawbuck

Originally slang for a sawhorse, fashioned in the 18th century by lashing together two pieces of wood into an "X" shape. With an X-shaped support at each of two ends, the contraption served to hold wood for cutting.

With the advent of the U.S. 10 dollar bill, which bears the Roman numeral X, "sawbuck" became slang for the bill, as people associated the shape with the sawhorse. The slang term "buck" originated in the mid-19th century in reference to the dollar.

In the mid-1900s "sawbuck" became street slang, apparently originating in Chicago, for a 10-dollar bag of marijuana. Since 1985 or so, the term has referred to a 10-dollar "bag" (actual bag or any kind of package) of any street drug (heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, etc.).

Occasionally, addicts use the term sawbuck to refer to 10 dollars, particularly when they intend to use the money to purchase drugs (e.g., "Borrow me a sawbuck so i can get my sick off").

"Sawbuck" is also the name of a Chicago-based media production company that focuses on documentary films on the street-level drug world.
"Gimme a sawbuck blow" (blow means heroin in Chicago's street level drug market).
Gives a whole new meaning to "Shake 'n Bake" Brooks!

...and now you know the rest of the story.

Hey Bob, borrow me a sawbuck so I can get my BBQ on. ;)

And now that I've learned something today, I can head to sleep.

Thanks Will.

PS: Love the new look on the car!

Wow... I get great track instruction along with a vocabulary education from our chief instructor...Its better than 4 years of college...Now, if i mix a bucket of saw dust from the saw buck in with the chicken and BBQ it I could have "southern sawed off chicken" with real wood flavor.

Check out the menu for NJ.

Bobby, I think some other ingredients were suggested above as well. Racing does, after all, require an altered state of mind.

Nate,

Sorry I missed that, I operated on a natural high... the strongest drug i take is Milk of Magnesia. Its great for the bones and I also mix it with transmission fluid in the Vette. It keeps the rear end movin and groovin in the turns. It also aids in getting my lower times.

Also, Interested in a new helmet - G force - 3023 and 3026 - can you move the shield with the one with the visor or is it fixed. If I ordered it today can you bring it to the meeting next week. Email me at SEISAN78@hotmail.com.

Ive stayed numerous times at the Wingate/Wyndham in Vineland. A little away, but worth it. Steak house next door, 24hr Wal-Mart...tons of restaurants and coffe places on West Landis Ave. Cheap 93 gas too. Rates start at 66-111 for a suite. 20 minutes from track.
