Make it 16. Not sure why I am not on the competition list.

Good question. The page is incorrect. Typically, the "competition list" shows all day 2 participants. I believe this is hard-coded. Since the TT is on day 3 for this event, the "competition list" is incorrect (because it is still showing day 2 participants).

FWIW, ST4 is still big on day 3. 12 cars currently.

Good mix of cars:

1 Mazda RX-7
1 Nissan Sentra SE-R
1 Alfa Romeo GTV-2000
1 Toyota MR2
8 Maza Miatas

Seems the question isn't how many Miatas will be at this event, but how many of a particular year! :)

Code: Select all

1990 Mazda Miata 7
1991 Mazda Miata 1
1992 Mazda Miata 3
1993 Mazda Miata 1
1994 Mazda Miata 3
1995 Mazda Miata 3
1996 Mazda Miata 1
1997 Mazda Miata 2
1999 Mazda Miata 2
2000 Mazda Miata 1
2001 Mazda Miata 1
2005 Mazda Miata 1
2006 Mazda Miata 1
Total 27
96 Miata #72 SC

COMSCC, now with 10% more Miata!

20% of the total is pretty impressive, says a lot about the car's reliability and cost effectiveness.

Oh believe me I'm already tired of paying. I can see the light, I just haven't accepted it yet. Plus the car is so easy and fun to drive it is a tough addiction to give up.

I disagree.. driving a fake Alfa on track is not my gig. But I respect as is a question of taste ... and in some cases budget. I prefer the real stuff or get something no-Miata. Those who know will understand (and chuckle  ).
Glad not "ALL" ST-4 is a Miata althought they are currently in the lead ... for now. Past records and championships are not all Miatas ...
My car has been extremely reliable (knock on wood and contrary to popular belief) as in both SSB ans SSC classes I managed an 87 % podium finish (top 3) record in 10 years racing at COM with a 38 year old car, 3 championships, 3 2nd places ...: I'd say "not bad, eh?!"

I dare not ask you how much it has cost to keep that 38 year old car on the track!

Remarkably very little considering the car has been very reliable over the years. Aside from the normal yearly investments in tires, oil, brake pads, only "major" issues were a couple of fuel injection lines, a couple of rotors, a tranny rebuilt and a couple of exhaust major fixes. This excludes of course the investment from change of class (SSC to ST-4) as it is not related to mechanical failures.

I think it is great to see this much interest in the class. It definitely wasn't this packed last year. I'll be trying hard out there.

As for fake Alfas....that story is old. Everyone has their pet peeve. That is Stephan's. Mine is the unecessary cones at T1. :). Will's is whining people.

Kudos Troy! :sunny:
I agree this class is one of the most compettive as was SSB in the past (to Steve's reply). Calls for "how in the heck I am going to get that extra .001 seconds and that is impressive.
