This past weekend the 24 Hours of LeMons visited the Shenandoah circuit at Summit Point, WV, and the Vermont Volvochero team made the long trek down there for our third race of the season. Of the five drivers, four of us have done at least a couple COM events, and two are current members, so we were the lone COM connection as far as I know. It was a great weekend, tons of fun, and with 102 cars entered, it was almost twice as big as the Loudon race.
We're all very glad that we made the trip. The old cow just keeps getting better and better as it gets worse and worse. Not only did we notch another top ten finish (our sixth in six races), but we were absolutely stunned to be awarded LeMons's top honor, the coveted Index of Effluency award: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/0 ... ner-is-13/.
We've decided that our next goal will be to go for a Class A (the "fastest" class) win at Stafford Springs in July. We've already won Class C and Class B this year, and no car has ever won all three classes. The odds are hugely against us, but we never thought we'd ever win IOE either!
