machine shop recommendations

Post by lou m » Mon Mar 07, 2011 12:15 pm

I'm looking for a good machine shop to do some basic block work. Anyone have a recommendation? The motor is a 2.2 dodge. I lost an injector at speed at Summit Point years ago. That piston was destroyed. I need the block cleaned and checked, the bores checked, honed or bored as necessary, new pistons fit to the bores and pressed onto the rods. All standard stuff. Thanks for the help,
Lou Milinazzo

I've had good luck with Malden Machine.

Lou,how about a reman short block for $300..$150 shipping,no core charge? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-REMA ... ccessories

Hmm..never mind..it says non turbo.. but maybe used would be an option? There's a used '84 2.2 turbo engine w/60k on Ebay for $450... and car-part.com says Burlington a-p has a mess of used ones... (hope you are enjoying your new garage.. :D :sunny: )

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, the new garage is cool, I got the lift in a few months ago too. I just did the water pump on my wifes mini cooper s. The lift made it nice as I removed the whole front end off the car....I think I'll post that in the next drift. :D
