Booker's M3 has been seriously tweaked since his ST2 days with COM:

Here's an excellent, historic, article as it appeared in a 1967 edition of MotorSport Magazine.

The article covers the 1967 F1 Grand Prix of Canada, which was held at Mosport.

You may know the author, Denis Jenkinson, from his book "The Racing Driver - The theory and practice of fast driving". "Jenks" was a very well known writer and competitor. He was more of a navigator than driver, and the original inventor of "pace notes", which he was the first to use while navigating the Mille Miglia (and winning) with Stirling Moss.

Anyway, I found this to be a great read. The insight and pictures are fantastic, and aren't at all like we'd read about today. The drivers from back then, with all of the marginal mechanical and safety equipment, seem like men, and make today's F1 drivers, as skilled as they are, seem like a bunch of school girl prima donnas.

A 1:23 lap time with NO downforce and hockey puck tires.. :shock:

Huge difference in power between the two. Looks like almost as big a gap in experience, also. The subie was driving his mirrors every time the e-30 got in sight.

Pretty sure that Drenth is 10K alone, with a $1500 rebuild every two seasons where he needs to ship it back to Europe... I want, and I don't want at the same time :D

+1 on that. It's an excellent guide. My only bone to pick is the part where he says Turn 2 is the scariest turn of any track COM goes to. For some reason, personally I think Turn 2 at Tremblant is scarier, but maybe that's just me. :shock: :P

Looking forward to getting back in the saddle again at Mosport. Bravo to the board for getting us back there!

The last time I was there was with a Mustang club, so it will be nice to run with some similar cars this time.

If you're not scared you're going too slow.

Kidding aside, I agree. I've crapped my pants more times in T2 at Tremblant than Mosport.
