NHIS April 8/9 was AWESOME!
Thanks COM for a great time! Special thx for Chris T for putting up with my driving and providing excellent advice. It was also great seeing SO MANY people there, especially Saturday! Looks like COM is set for a huge growth spurt.

Well, off to clean the brake dust from the rims, bleed the brakes...

Just a couple of pics here: http://ffr.drunkhq.com/gallery/NHIS_COM_April06
I had a great time (a little cold on Sat) and want to thank Nate for his instructions. A very good teacher!

Thanks to everyone at COM for another awesome event.
I always forget how cold the first event first day is
Here are a few more pictures of the event, not to the same level of quality as soe of the others here but ibteresting non the less. These are from the dreaded miata perspective
http://inspirinium.com/gallery/v/carstu ... _04_07_06/
Personally I had a great time and learned a lot again. the net result being 3rd place in ST3 with a 1:24.85 something (Same as the first event at NHIS last year - 3rd place with a time of 1:26.278), although I managed to take about 1.5 seconds off my lap time this year compared to last. No changes to the car so I guess that means I learned something from all the sessions last year
Congrats to Gordon with a blistering 1:23 (something) for a new class record in ST3, along with everyone else of coarse.
Also thanks to the Bimmer guys for passing me on numerous occasions in open track and giving me the opportunity to follow you through at least a couple of corners, the end result of which was a reading on my lap timer in tth open track session that I still dont believe...

WOW, lots of great pics! In hindsight regret not lending out my camcorder as am wondering how the car leans at turns from an outside POV. Just curious.
Look fwd to next COM event without these street tires but with new proper r compound tires for a change. Lap time of 1:30 is, frankly, embarrassing in my eyes for this car
MANY thanks! Looking at those photos and it seems i have very little lean, but the car suffered (too) much understeer problems virtually all weekend as compared to last year and am also learning the newly upgraded (one again, this is the 2nd time) suspension in the car. Had MASSIVE understeer during the last lap of time trial and have been looking at the incar video and it confirms my suspicions and what needs to be adjusted...Mark Swinehart wrote:http://www.jeremykeith.com/index.cf...NHISApril&tab=0

(Said in good humor) The one that only a man with either questionable sanity, or deep pockets, puts on a track.TTA89 wrote:Steven, which car were you driving?
But since neither of the above apply (i think, at least that is what the voices in my head say LOL) it is the Ferrari.
Many thanks Mr. Talented Fossum for the compliment. Well, we all have dreams, even if they are easily overpowered by today's modern cars that go for far less cash (and far cheaper to fix/maintain too!). Someone at the event said the car may be slow and outdated, but won in Style Points. (Said in good humor) Is there a trophy for style points?
Troy, thanks for the compliment on sound. If there are two things virtually everyone agrees about these old Ferrari cars is that they have a sensuous (timeless) styling and sound (eh hem) erotic. For a car that was initially produced over three decades ago i feel her looks (and sound) easily meet up to some of the best cars on the road today. Those BLAP-Ap-AP tin cans i heard at the track are... but then again those BLAP-AP-AP'ing tin cans can run circles around me on the track (pun, sadly, intended).
At the end of the day it seems everyone had a great time (THANKS COM)... and between the offers of beer and enjoying a nicely aged cigar...
As i always say in my SIG line, what really matters is that we all...
