I just wanted to say thanks for riding shotgun all day at NHIS and teaching me how to drive around the track! Hopefully I didn't bore you to death

The radios were a nice touch, it would have been a lot more difficult to communicate without them. I had a total blast and can't wait to do it again! I even think the car enjoyed being thrashed around for an hour and 20 min. I figured out we were getting 5.5mpg on the track.

I'm hooked, I already requested the time off so I'll see you at Mosport.

I can see the instructors picking straws to see who has to ride with me.

I was going to come down to the dinner but I was exhausted and just wanted to unload the truck and go to bed. You don't realize how much it takes out of you driving around out there. I'll def be at the dinner in Canada and look forward to meeting more the regulars.

Mosport looks fantastic from the track vids I've seen. Unfortunately, I can't do that and Mont Tremblant, and since I have family near MT, I'm going to go there.

NHIS was great. It was very useful to apply the autox mentality to the chicanes, 1, 2a, and 2b in particular. Years of running at Devens paid off there and at 11/12.

Mick was a great instructor. He talked when he needed to talk, and was quiet during the appropriate times as well. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Sure looked a lot faster than the guy in that Black E30 M3 I saw out there.

Hey Scott, based on this picture, I'm certain that the MB weapons will not fit under the fenders, even if I roll them. I'll need to pull the Avons off, and sell those wheels.

You get first dibbs if you want them.

Just wondering if you got your car fixed up in time for the event this past weekend. Want to hear something funny? That day at the open tack event at NHIS my battery ended up completely shorting out leaving me stranded on the track on the last lap of the day!!! Kinda weird since it is very similar to the problem that you were having that day. Did you ever figure out why your battery was not charging?

That is just wrong. You try and help me with my electrial problem and it rubbed off on your car ? I really appreciate the efforts you made. Here's what we think happened: Since last season- I removed the factory gauge cluster of which almost nothing worked anymore and the tach needle had wedged itself under the gas gauge needle

. Well is seems the volt gauge is part of the circuit that charges the field that is necessary for the alternator to kick on. We created key-on power to the alternator and the rest is history. Oh boy did it wake up the motor. Where it fell flat on it's face at high rpm- it pulled right up to the 6200 rpm rev limiter. Bottom line was a 3rd in SPA behind 2 Porsche (the face of SPA sure is changing- 3 of the top 4 were Porsches) but I was happy with a personal best of 1:19.7.
Now it's time to figure out why I have 295 deg. oil temps

Good luck with your project and get back on track before SPA is overrun with non V8 American Iron.

I won't be driving my car anytime really soon. My problem is much worse than I originally thought....My battert was dead....but then I replaced it and the engine won't start. It doesn't even turn over very well. In fact, it is making a horrendous squeaking sound....I think I cooked the bottom end of my engine. It was running like a champ until it popped though. Well enough for me to pull off a lap time of 1:15.5. My wife even got the lap on video. I am not looking forward to having to rebuild this sucker now!!!

Well I guess I need to do some research now. Wish me luck.
