Just got a logitech racing wheel for Christmas (the G27). I'll be signing up with iRacing this evening - so let me know which member I should put down as a reference.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

I guess most iRacing members are not reading this, oh well... was worth a try as members get discounts when referring new members .

Re: iRacing subscription reference
I did get Nate's email - but I guessed it wrong. Nick was way too late...
So do I get only 2 tracks with the basic package? I've been driving the miata around at limerock (the miata loves the layout) and at LagunaSeca (I hate that track ). I am impressed by the feeling you get. I got the G27 steering wheel and use the clutch and h-shifter. Its much harder than the real thing, although crashing is much ... softer. Am I correct in guessing that drivers who use the h-shifter and clutch are going to be a bit slower?

You get like 8 tracks (4 ovals) to start out and a few cars (Miata, Solstice, some oval thing). You will have to buy tracks like the Glen and Mosport.
Drivers who use a clutch and H-shifter will be a little bit slower, but not by much once you get used to it. I don't worry too much about that (I always use the h-pattern and clutch because it's just more fun IMO) since I usually just focus on learning new COM tracks when I play iRacing, and I'm not really into any of the online leagues right now.
Once you get used to driving without feeling G's the simulator should be easier than real life - I don't think I could run 1:33's at Mosport in real life with a 325hp, 3600lb Mustang FR500S even if it did have fresh r-compound tires and a perfectly setup suspension...or 1:37's with an NC MX-5 Cup car.
