Does the club permit licensed com members to give a ride along to another club member, or is it instructors only?

I am 99% sure only instructors are allowed to give ride alongs

In addition our insurance policy requires that any one riding in a car be reqistered for the event.

Registered instructors are the only ones allowed to ride-along in the vehicle on-track.

How about workers, Alex?

I know in previous years, workers were offered ride-alongs with instructors after the last session of the day in somewhat controlled conditions.

Does "somewhat controlled conditions" mean we can't hang the ass end out and yell woooh yaaaa around every corner ???
I bet the workers would love that ? What did they call it at Disney- an E ticket ride ?

Related question, does this imply that instructors can not take students out for a ride? Only instructors can be passengers...? Doesn't seem quite right.

From the 2006 COMSCC rule book:

"At NO time during the Time Trial or on-track session will PASSENGERS be allowed on the course unless one occupant is a COM instructor or a person designated by the Chief Instructor and the passenger is a COMSCC member."

Per insurance carriers regulations anyone in the vehicle must also be registered for the event.

Instructors can take any registered driver out for a ride, either in the instructor's own car, or the other person's.

I got that, but if an instructor was just registered as a driver (not as an instructor) at an event, could he do a ride along with another registered driver.

They would still be an "Instructor" - meaning that they have the experience and knowledge to ride/drive along with another COMSCC member.

The rules allow the Chief Instructor to allow any registered member to drive with any other registered member.

So my guess would be that an Instructor, that registered for an event as a Licensed driver, would be allowed to have a passenger. But it would be prudent to get the Chief Instructors approval prior to going on the track.

Thanks Mark, that was my understanding also. Just wanted to clarify it for everyone.
