Mosport Grand Prix Track (Gauging Interest)

Post by JoeT » Fri Nov 26, 2010 11:13 am

Hi All,

Hi All, please note, this is a preliminary discussion only and completely unofficial, please refer to your local representative for official communique's. Sorry if we've created any waves. Thank You

New thread created.. (Thanks for the suggestion breakaway500)

I'm new here, but just wondering how fixed are the dates on your 2011 Calendar? We tried to work with John last year on securing a "non money losing" event at Mosport, but calendars and availability didn't work out. This year we were able to secure a nice 3 day event at Mosport in August.

August 26 Friday Lapping MIR
August 27 Saturday Event #5 MIR
August 28 Sunday Event #6 MIR

Friday consists of lapping & instruction, Saturday and Sunday are dedicated to lapping in the morning, with Time Attack competitions following that for both days. There will also be a banquet Saturday evening.

This post is to see if there's any interest from this crew?

Cost for the event (all 3 days, all inclusive for track) is only $550.00 Canadian. (The Grand Prix Track)

There will be:
RFID timing
Passing in designated areas
Prizes (Toyo Tires is sponsoring the event) tires and gift certificates
Trophies
Video display of lap times
Bench racing
Etc.

ComSCC will be the special invitee (Details to be determined)

Note: Just putting this offer out there, just in case there's any interest and there's no need to risk losing money. This event normally sells out, that's why I'm putting this here before it's advertized.

Thanks

2 Mosport events for COMSCC, that would be great. But, I see a problem: COMSCC has a NHMS outing schedule for August 29/30.

This is the actual timing equipment. It was originally intended for motorcycle racing.

Hope this helps.

Much less expensive for the competitors, and no transponders to lose.

Seems like a good lap timing setup.Inexpensive as well! It would be a nice addition for COM to have something like this.

"The clear choice in timing and scoring solutions, especially for, but limited to organizations making their registration process easier with TIGER.

Our TITAN product integrates with AMB and dBcom systems but even more exciting, our patent-pending RFID tag timing system!
Some interesting facts about our RFID system:

Our RFID tags cost approximately 1/1000th to outfit each vehicle than one of the other systems that relies on a powered transponder.

Speaking of powered transponders... our tags don't need batteries or recharging or any power source at all!

Our tags are self-adhesive.. just peel off the backing and stick it on like any other sticker.

Destroy a tag? Not to worry, they don't cost much, 40 cents! Just put on a new one.

We've solved the "traditional problems" with RFID: we've experienced packed motorcycle race starts, clusters of vehicles travelling 160mph+... no problem.

Pit-in, pit-out, "is this vehicle allowed in this session"...etc.
Whether you're using our TITAN RFID or dBcom or AMB (or any combination), the TITAN race management software allows you to:

Create grids based on your own organization's rules and traditions
See how many conflicts you might have with "what if" scenarios of class combinations and race day orders
Manage races via any web browser
Provide live time and scoring to the paddock (anyone with a web browser)
Manage finishing order and status of each racer using an easy drag-n-drop system
Assign points according to your own rules, regardless of how complex
Update championships and publish results in real-time with a single click
Laptimes and results are available immediately in each racer's account."

Joe,

I'm definitely interested in a weekend event at Mosport. When it's finalized do we register on motorsportreg.com? Also, is SPDA holding the event or another organization?

Registration details have not been finalized yet, all we've done is secure the dates and put in the deposits for the track. The host club is SPDA, and we understand that if you guys come up, you have your own classing system, so what we'll do is provide you guys with the spreadsheet containing the lap times so that you can score it under your rules.

Details are still being worked out, and more info to come as we finalize the details.

Thanks

Hi Gang,

We're a bit late in the game to partner for 2011, so we'll work together in 2012. Thanks for letting me post and we look forward to competing with you in the future.

Sincere Regards
