Track Walk at NHMS-4??

Post by blindsidefive0 » Wed Sep 29, 2010 2:31 pm

Will there be an opportunity to walk the track prior to the event (or after day 1, considering there is an open track event at NHMS on 10/7)?
The walk at WGI was extremely helpful, and of all the times I've been to NHMS I've never had the opportunity.

Cheers,

I will check with the track. Since we must wait until 700PM to enter on Friday, October 8, I feel it will have to be Saturday night, October 9. Will let you all know.

I hate to be a stickler on this but can we at least make sure the cones at 1 are moved away from the turn? I just saw some of the later NMHS vids and they are still placing those cones as to suggest the line.....and my line is beyond them.

Yeah, if at all possible. There is lots of room there and I thought the cones where closer in last time...I have cone marks to show for it.

I'd also like to see the cones spaced 2 car-widths apart, so that if someone has to run into the bowl at turn 1, they can do it w/o crashing thru a wall of cones.

My car is already carrying almost 200 extra pounds!!!!

The track is the same for all of us - you guys just need to learn car control. :-)

What would the objection be to putting the cones as far off line as possible? If you want to drive close to cones, you can always autocross

For NHMS2 I asked that the turn 1 cones be moved back, they were. I asked again and they were moved back further and everyone seemed satisfied. For NHMS3, no one approached me to have the cones moved back. Now everyone is crying about it? Shame on you! The track has been more than willing to grant our requests.

As one of the first people thru the gate at a NHIS event, I would move the cones back without asking.

COM will not take that course of action. Our relationship with the track should not be jeopardized. The track has always been willing to fairly consider our requests.
