Another car class question

Hello All:

I'm trying to get my car ready for the Aug 28-29 at NHMS event and I'm running a new car this time out. I'm not 100% which class I'm going to be in. Below is what I have for this event:

The vehicle is a 87 Porsche 944 NA completely stock from the engine, suspension and brakes(I have race pads and SS lines of course) except for the interior. I have stripped all carpets, rear seat and headliner. The dashboard is stock with all HVAC still in tack. I don't believe I still have the door cards anymore. All glass still in tack. I was thinking of being in SSB or ST3 but with the somewhat stripped interior, not sure if I will fit into that class. I'll be using stock wheels but not sure what tires I can use. Street, DOT race tires e.g. RA-1, R888, etc...? My nephew have the same car and same set up as mine but he does not have the heater or HVAC in tack. Not sure what class he'll be in.

This is the first time out with this car and I don't expect to be competing with other cars. I just want to run this car and test it in preparation to compete in the 944 Cup/944 Spec series but at the same time, I'll be running few COM events as well.

One more thing, how can I get numbers for this new car?

If anyone can help me out so I can register for the event, that will be great. I can't wait to hit the track again this year since I blew up my Subaru STI motor at the last event of last year at NHMS.

Given this, you will be in SPC.

Your number you used last year will still be assigned to you.

How "stripped" is the interior? If it's bare (door panels, liners, etc.) like the guys in Spec Miatas then unfortunately you may be in SP class.

Numbers and Letters: There was a link on this. I use vinyls on the rear side window. You can customize some if there's enough real estate in the Porsche but read the rules about min dimensions.

Thank you for the reply. Well, my car's interior have no carpet at all, no door cards and headliners. Still have the dash and all HVAC somewhat like the SM cars. My nephew's car interior is all strip with just the dash, stock gauges, that's it.

I don't really care what class I'll be in as long as I can run the car. I guess I'll be in SPC and if it need to be changed at registration day, no big deal.

If I'm in SPC, I can run DOT Hooiser R6's or DOT race tires?

dave your car like my spec 944 is in SPC . dot tires like r6 are ok . no full slicks that would move you into PC .

dave your car is registered in ssb . i would change that . it would be in spc or st4 if you reinstall the interior .

It sounds like you have a great opportunity to install a roll bar or cage.

This car's intention is to run the 944 Cup Northeast series so I have decided to build it to the 944 Cup/PCA Stock or maybe prepared class. So therefore, in COM it doesn't matter what class I'll be in. Just as long as I can take it out.

You ar welcome. However the class you register in is very important. Trophies are ordered based on the number of cars in each class, since David is the trophy chair, he can make the necessary adjustment in your case.
