Can someone Mustang savvy take a look at this for me..

Look at these photos, the shot from the drivers side front in particular. The wheels are 17x9 with a +17 offset. Stock is +24-26. I didn't feel at the time I ordered these wheels that a 7mm-9mm increase in track per side would make for a fit problem. The tires are Avon Tech R's in the 275/40/17 size. My CC plates are currently adjusted all the way out, so I have some room to move in that respect. The springs are 1050lbs and I measure the space from the top of the tire to the wheel well arch at 2" plus a small amount of change...maybe 1/16th or so.
Thoughts? Will this rub?

Rubbing
Hi Troy -
It's really hard to predict. The stiff springs will certainly help, and if you're not up to "banzai" speed going into the heavy braking zones you should be ok. Adding more negative camber will provide multiple benefits.
I don't know what class you're in but most classes have a rule regarding the relationship of the fender lip and the tire tread. You should probably look into that rule as it applies to your class.
If you're ok rule wise just watch it while at NHIS. In particular watch the left front as I believe you've got some electronics in that fenderwell. Several Stang drivers have damaged the wiring harness that's there with tire rub.

Depending on what class you are running in the wheel offset may be an issue.
Some classes are restricted to +- 5 MM from stock.

Thanks for the replies. I'm less concerned about rules minutia, as for the moment and for the forseeable future, I am only participating on the practice days.....but I have a stock set of 95R's shod with V710's that I plan on running at the NHIS event anyway. I was going to use the first practice session to cycle the Avons though.
At this point, I'm trying to make the best of a less than optimal situation. I will have an opportunity in the next week or so to put the car on stands, pull the spring out, reassemble, then excercise the wheel with a jack at various positions.. It looks to me that even if I was able to get 3 degrees negative camber out of these plates (2.5 is around the max on an 03 Cobra with MM CC plates) that it would still rub. Also, I'm not so concerned about rubbing at open track events, but where I do lots and lots of autocrossing, there is a major concern. I'll pull more compression out my springs at Devens than I would at say NHIS, though turn 3 might pose a similar problem.

Troy, for a fox body I think you would be fine with the 1050 springs and that clearance. My gut feeling is even with the extra weight you're still ok.
I have run my Mustang with 1000 # fronts and much less clearance- granted I did roll the fender lip...that might be painfull in that car. Looks great.

Another friend of mine with the same car and same wheels (different style but same MFG and offset) and tires did an excercise where he set his coil overs to max lowering (to the point of being completely loose) and he moved the tire all around, up and down...lock to lock....loaded and unloaded.
The result was that at (simulated) full compression the tire rubbed the top inside of the fender arch, but we founding it unlikely that the spring would allow that much compression under braking only. This was almost 2" of compression. Lock to lock with the tire loaded, the only spot that touched was the fender liner as Don P suggested.
I'm going to bring them to NHIS and cycle them. Since I'll need to go easy on them, it will be a good initial indicator of the fit. I have my first autox of the season the following week at Devens.. If they are really going to rub... I'm DEFINITELY going to find out there.

Troy I have a 1997 Cobra with 18" wheels and 265/40 tires. They did not rub with the stock springs but when I installesd Eibach springs (1.5" lower) they rubbed. Like Don says inside the left fender well is a wire harness which is usually hits before anything else. From the pictures I would says the tire will also rub the wheel arch too. I had to remove the inner fenders and roll the wheel arch lip on my car to stop it from rubbing. Turn 3 and 10 are tough on the front end and you can bottom out at speed. I am going to 275/35-18 tires for this year and I hope they don't rub.
