FS: Hawk brake pads for 1.8L Miata

Post by CP » Wed Mar 10, 2010 2:26 pm

I replace my pads way before they need to be retired. I've got several used sets of Hawk Blues that are about 50% worn. $25 front set, $20 rear set plus any shipping charges. I can send photos to anyone who wants them; just email me at: cypeake at hotmail dot com

I just got a shipment of ATE brake fluid at the store if anyone is looking for some prior to or during the race season. I always keep it in stock, both the Super Blue and Type 200. I've got some Wilwood 570 here too.

Cy,
I'll take a 1 set of front and rear for sure, maybe two. I'll check my current pads on the car this weekend. I have a 1.6L car though, but I think the pads are the same for 1.6L and 1.8L, only the rotor size changes.

I've been using HP+ front and HPS rear on my 1.6L car for autox/street. I could use spare pads for my trip to Calabogie in August. Probably use your used pads at the event and keep my current ones as backup.

I live in Southern, NH (exit 4 off rt93), I don't think I'll make NHMS in July, but maybe we can meet up on your way up or home?

I'd be interested in a set of pads too, if you still have some. I'm in Salem, MA and will be at NHMS next Friday and Saturday.

FWIW the pads are different. I have a set of half worn Hawk Blues and matching rotors for a 1.6 from when I upgraded my Locost brakes to 1.8's before NHMS1. I'll bring them to NHMS on Friday.
First 6 pack of cold imported beer takes them. 8)

I've still got lots of used 1.8 Hawk Blue pads and will only be at NHMS next weekend on Sunday, July 4th.

Free to anyone that wants pads. I've got around 6 sets with more than 50% left. Let me know before February, as the trash can now beckons.

I let my buddy Rob know about these - I think he's going to try to get in touch.

Thanks for passing along the info; glad to help out a new guy :) He's coming to get them tonight. School him on changing pads/lubing slide pins and adjusting the rear pistons so he can swap these out easily...6 pairs of fronts and 4 pairs of rears. He'll be alright with the Blues as long as he remembers to get some heat in them during his out-lap.

Will do. Thanks for helping him out .

I talked to Rob and he said there's a ton of life left on the pads - do you get a deal on these Hawk pads via spec racing or something?

Not really. I get them at cost since I own a business that sells brake pads (among other automotive things) and my brake pad schedule is shorter than most people's. I'll be ordering bulk pads for my teammates (8 cars) next month. If anyone else wants Hawks let me know and I'll get you on the order.
