first timer(s)... a few questions

Post by solfly » Sat Jun 12, 2010 10:03 am

hi
my dad and i are both looking to do our first track day at NHMS on July 2nd. I have a few questions.

1. in order to sign us both up do i need to accounts or can i just purchase 2 annual memberships and 2 day 1s on one account??

2. how does the $100 rebate work? will i see it when i check out?

3. in my car i have an older RCI 4 pt harness on the drivers side and a ractive 4 point on the pass side. is this adequate or should i replace them?

4. whats the best way to apoligize to my dad for passing him all day?

thanks

You should each have your own account w/ email and mailing address, especially to receive the $100 rebate check.

2. how does the $100 rebate work? will i see it when i check out?

The rebate is just that: a rebate after your first COM event. Once you complete your first COM event you are eligible to receive the rebate, which is mailed to each eligible member after their first event.

3. in my car i have an older RCI 4 pt harness on the drivers side and a ractive 4 point on the pass side. is this adequate or should i replace them?

If you have stock belts then it really doesn't matter how old your harness belts are since you/your instructor can opt to use the factory belts. Without stock belts then the age of your harness belts may be in issue, you can ask the chief of tech listed on the web site.

4. whats the best way to apoligize to my dad for passing him all day

Pay for his next COM event as an apology or Fathers Day gift or both.

'Tis true. If the instructor uses the stock belt, then he can request that you do also.

The COM Sports Car Club registration window, located at the Main Gate of the track, will be open Thursday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and from 7:00 – 8:00 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

At any of these times you will also be able to pay for garage space. The cost for a garage remains the same as previously - $50 per day per garage (providing ample room for two cars). Do not utilize any garage space prior to registering. Garages are sold on a first-come first-served basis.

it's probably also helpful to mention that it is possible to rent a single garage bay for $25, if you only have one car.

A tarp. You will need to empty your car of all loose items including floor mats, iPods radar detectors and (for New Hampshire people) pistols and assault rifles. If you cover them and your water and food snacks with the tarp they will not get wet and the color will serve to reserve your paddock spot.

Don't forget your car numbers and class decals.

well im hoping to rent garage space and our cars are only raced so not much junk in them. how far will our tow rig be from the paddock/garage area? can the numbers and classes be made on windows with painters tape?

sorry for all the questions, i hate to be underprepared

you can park your rig in the paddock area and be quite close to your garage. painter's tape is fine for numbers and class.

I would think you won't have any trouble getting a garage space friday morning.
